Character Controller

1

pdf zip 208Kb

Havok Xtra Character Controller Behavior Reference Guide. This behavior provides familiar control over a character within a physically modeled environment. It provides all the standard walking, running and jumping functionally. Along with these come the inherent extras in the Havok Xtra by such as sliding along obstacles, falling of ledges and pushing other simulated objects.

Lingo Reference

1.0.4.

pdf zip 1Mb

Havok Xtra Lingo Reference Guide - lists all Lingo functions and properties for the Havok Xtra.

Behavior Reference

1.0.4.

pdf zip 200kb

Havok Xtra Behavior Reference Guide - gives a description of all behaviors supplied with the Havok Xtra by default and also details how to go about creating user defined behaviors using the physics.

QuickStart Guide

1.0

HTML zip
38kb

Online HTML

A getting started document (in HTML format) to get you up and running creating physical content with the Havok Xtra and the Havok HKE exporter for 3ds max.

Physics Primer

1.0

pdf zip 623kb

This document brings you through the fundamentals of physical simulation and the specific approaches taken by the Havok technology. This is usually the best place to start before attempting to create physical content.

Raycast Car Tutorial

1.0

rtf zip 544kb

The raycast car tutorial demonstrates how to create a car and a landscape entirely within Director using Lingo commands, and how to tweak the raycast driving model to achieve convincing driving motion. The tutorial includes a Director movie which you can use as a basis for your own vehicle games. Enjoy.

Pinball Tutorial

1.0

pdf zip 1Mb

A tutorial detailing how to create a pinball flipper behavior. This is a great example of user control over physical objects and the best way to approach this. It's based on the pinball demo in the downloads section.

Car Tutorial

1.0

pdf zip 1Mb

A convincing car is a good challenge for a physics engine. This is not a convincing car but is a nice example of creating car-like behavior using just a block and lots of impulses / forces.

Xtra Training Presentation
1.0
powerpoint zip 2.17Mb A presentation to bring you step by step through physics simulation and the Havok Xtra Workflow.
Combining Havok Physics & Animation in Director
2.0
688kb zip

This tutorial on "Combining Havok Physics & Animation in Director" will allow you to create unyeilding animated models, to create animated models fully present in the physics simulation and to set up a complex display proxy for a simpler physical model.
